We live and work in the Barossa Valley because we believe this is the best region in Australia for producing premium wines. Our typical weather in the Barossa, (dry in summer, wet in winter and springtime) facilitate the ideal conditions for growing our grapes.
The soil is of the finest quality, rich in all the nutrients vital to the growth of our vines and ultimately, the quality of the grapes themselves. This is what gives the Barossa Valley it’s reputation as one of the finest wine producing regions in Australia. As such, all Simpatico Wines’ beautiful wines are produced with 100% locally grown Barossa Valley fruit.
Simpatico Wines’ vineyards are all situated in the Barossa Valley. The Barossa locations of Nuriootpa and Marananga are well renowned for being prime grape growing areas. Our primary vineyard, just outside of Marananga, consists mainly of Shiraz and also Cabernet Sauvignon grapes – the varieties synonymous with the Barossa region. We also grow our luscious Viognier fruit on these Nuriootpa vineyards, which are also our home blocks.
We also use the premium grapes grown at our vineyards situated at our Cellar Door in Tanunda. It is here we grow Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Semillon grapes. We also source fruit for our lighter style wines from vineyards in Lyndoch, situated on the other side of the Barossa Valley.
We are continuing to plant more vines each season, and generally grow our winery production aspect of the business. Simpatico Wines will also be involved in the acquisition of more vineyards and acreage within the Barossa and surrounds in the near future.
