Our Blue Heeler Dog
Born in Melbourne, Max is the living breathing contradiction of his breed of dog – a city dog that loves finer things in life, who then later in life, came to live his true blood calling as a farm dog.
The reality of this was revealed during his first week living on the vineyard when he decided to jump the fence to visit the sheep next door. He soon realised though he had bitten off more than he could chew – he got so scared, he forgot how to get back over the fence and Steve had to go and rescue him in the Gator!
With his personality being strong but sweet, and his knack for unearthing hidden treasures, our Muscat is named after Max; aptly called “Max’s 3 Lost Barrels”. It is a tribute to Max’s boldness, charm, and depth of character.
Fiercely loyal, territorial, and very protective, especially as Aimee’s big brother, Max will be on guard and on watch for anything. One of our most memorable times of this was when we had midnight visits from a baby fox that kept distance enough to tease Max and drive him insane – if only Max could have got to chase that little fox..
Max loves his wine grapes too – look out for him in the vineyard on your next visit.
